Kirk W. Walker, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Kirk grew up in Reedsport, Oregon, graduating from Reesport High School in 1980. He received a B.A. degree from Pacific Lutheran University, majoring in biology and anthropology, and minoring in Spanish. He then went on to Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) to attain his M.D. degree.

His internship was completed in Denver, Colorado. Kirk returned to Portland (OHSU) for his residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in cardiology.

After completing his training, Dr. Walker worked as an assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, specializing in heart failure and heart transplant.

In 1998, Dr. Walker returned to Salem, Oregon with his family and entered private practice. On March 3, 2003 Dr. Walker founded Cascade Cardiology.

Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow in the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI). He is a member of Oregon Medical Association, Marion-Polk Medical Society, and Mid Valley IPA. Dr. Walker is board certified in General Cardiology as well as Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Walker is active in the community. He has served as President of the Salem Hospital Medical staff (2004-2005), served on the Salem Hospital Credentials committee from 205-2007. He served on the board of directors at the Mid Valley Independent Physicians Association (2000-2010 and was president from 2006-2008. He is currently the chairman of the American College of Cardiology's Advocacy Committee and a member of the Oregon Medical Association's Legislative Committee.

Kirk, is married to Terri, has a son Conner, and a daughter Alicia. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, visiting the coast and the mountains, bicycling and traveling.
