Ashit Patel, MD, FACC
Dr. Patel joined Cascade Cardiology in December 2008. He is diverse and has been educated in England, India, and ultimately United States where he resided in New York for approximately 25 years.
Dr. Patel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Newark. His medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. After completing residency in Internal Medicine at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York (where he served as Chief Medical Resident), Dr. Patel completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Beth Israel Medical Center/Long Island College Hospital in New York (where he also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow for a large multicenter program). Dr. Patel pursued advanced training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Patel incorporates the most up to date advanced technology in the field of cardiology and electrophysiology for treatment of heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, and sudden death syndromes. He is a strong advocate of education for individual patients, providers, and the community we live in to have a sound understanding and improve treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Society of Echocardiography. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and American Society of Echocardiography. He plays a active role in local medical chapters and societies.
Dr. Patel is on the medical staff at Salem Hospital and Silverton Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health Science University and has affiliation with St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland.
Dr. Patel enjoys golfing, cooking, and the outdoors. His wife, Sonel, is a Family physician and they are proud parents of two daughters. Dr. Patel is fluent in English, Gujarati, and conversant in Hindi and Spanish.
